Isabella Strahan, the 19-year-old daughter of former NFL star Michael Strahan, recently shared an unexpected and uplifting update on her battle with cancer.
In a heartfelt social media post, she tearfully revealed that she would now only have to undergo four rounds of chemotherapy instead of the previously planned six.
Isabella was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a cancer located at the base of her brain, last year. She bravely shared her diagnosis on Good Morning America in January 2024. Despite the challenges she faced, Isabella maintained a positive outlook, stating, “I’m feeling good. Not too bad.”
Her journey began in October 2023, during her first year of college at the University of Southern California. Isabella started experiencing headaches and nausea. Unable to walk straight, she initially attributed her symptoms to vertigo. However, when she began throwing up blood, she knew something serious was going on.
After contacting her sister, Isabella’s entire family was notified. Since then, her battle has been arduous, but she remains resilient. In her latest YouTube video, she shared the joyous news that she only needs to endure four rounds of chemotherapy instead of the initial six.
“These are happy tears,” Isabella expressed in the April 10 video. With her second round of chemo completed in March, she is now halfway through her treatment. She excitedly shared, “I’ll be done in May, and I can kind of try and have a summer to feel better. And I’m so happy cause I thought I’d be done at the end of July.”
Isabella’s positive progress during her cancer journey brings hope and happiness not only to her but also to her loved ones. Her father, Michael Strahan, a proud and supportive father, stated, “I literally think that in a lot of ways, I’m the luckiest man in the world because I’ve got an amazing daughter. I know she’s going through it, but I know that we’re never given more than we can handle and that she is going to crush this.”
