The couple exchanged vows on April 29 the following year at Westminster Abbey, with millions tuning in. But now, a video from the day they made their announcement has captured the attention of viewers on X (formerly Twitter), as they caught a glimpse of Kate’s hand shaking.

In an ITV interview following their engagement, William shared that he proposed in Kenya during a quiet getaway with friends. “We had a little private time away together with some friends and I just decided that it was the right time really,” he explained.

“We’d been talking about marriage for a while, so it wasn’t a massively big surprise, but I took her up somewhere nice in Kenya and proposed.”

“It was very romantic,” Kate added. “And you said yes, obviously?” asked the interview, to which Kate confirmed: “Of course, yes.”
